It works by using the formula
Calories = (Fat X 9) + (Carbohydrate X 4) + (Protein X 4) .
Note that this formula is not perfectly exact, but an approximation.
The program takes the difference between the stated calories and actual calories and divides by 4 to yield grams, and then adds that to the Carbohydrate grams listed on the label.

 borderline diabetic looking for help Was looking for something to help with carb counting and tracking while waiting to see a dietition. this CValculator helped a bit but also it confused me as being new to the carb counting thing and just finding out I was borderline. it does alot of what other web sights tell you to do for you I just needed to keep count my self. would be a great program if it could track or even keep totals for you when you use it.

 It Doesn\'t run well on my windows7 64 and It would be better if I was able to enter weight in KGs.
